Well, being that I finished my first book of the year today I figured I should make my books in 2008 post. Last year I set a goal of reading 30-50 books...and I came up really short so I'm not going to bother with goals this year. This way I won't be disappointed with myself at the end of the year, lol. I'll attempt to keep my list updated though.

If you know of any books you think I absolutely must read this year feel free to leave me a comment! I appreciate all recommendations, I'm just slow at getting to them.

I don't know what you've read or like so I don't know what to suggest and I think you've read far more than I have. LOL.

The Color of Magic is probably one of the more boring of Terry Pratchett books. I'd suggest Guards! Guards! (or any of the books dealing with the City Watch) or Hogfather (or any of the books dealing with Death, who(m?) I totally have a crush on). Rincewind is kinda boring sometimes, the luggage is way cooler. The best thing about the Discworld series is that you really don't need to read them in order; so it's kinda better to start with some of the later books just because they're a bit more interesting.

Woo, thanks for the tip!
That book, as small as it was took me a really, really long time to get through...I think I started it before A Wrinkle in Time...and I normally have like 4-5 books started at once cause I'm crazy like that.
I was very hesitant to pick up another in the Discworld Series but maybe I'll give it another try.

Love the Wall-E icon, btw!

I know! It took me forever to finish too and I absolutely love the Discworld novels. I never recommend any of the ones that were first written; it's not that they're bad, it's just that they're rather boring and hard to get through for some reason.

Also, if you don't mind reading junior fiction I'd recommend the Artemis Fowl series. Honestly, it's just a fun easy read. The characters are pretty original and it has a great sense of humor, which I seem to love in books.

I wish Wall-E icons were easier to find! Most of the ones I've seen so far aren't that good. :(
